Assignment: "Political Data Visualization"

Objective: To assess a student's ability to create and interpret data visualizations used to represent political data.

Instructions:

1. Select a political dataset of your choice (e.g. election results, opinion polls, demographic data, etc.).

2. Using a data visualization tool such as Excel, Tableau, or R, create at least three different types of visualizations (e.g. bar chart, line graph, scatter plot, etc.) that represent different aspects of the dataset.

3. Write a brief (1-2 page) report that includes the following:

• A brief summary of the dataset and what it represents
• A description of each visualization you created, including the key insights they reveal
• An interpretation of the visualizations, including any patterns or trends you observed
• A discussion of the limitations of the visualizations and how they could be improved

4. Submit the visualizations and report to the instructor for grading.

Grading Criteria:

• The visualizations are clear, well-designed, and accurately represent the data.
• The report is well-written and provides a thorough interpretation of the visualizations.
• The discussion of limitations and potential improvements shows a good understanding of data visualization best practices.
